The Kings of Texas

Houston local, Joseph Miranda has been playing live music for over 40 years. Joseph has played shows all over the world and during his career, has performed with some of the greats such as Stevie Ray Vaughn and Johnny Winter, just to name a few. His most recent band is ” The Kings of Texas”. This is one blues band who pulls out all the bells and whistles.

Joe has recently been diagnosed with Myeloma Bone Cancer, which is an extremely dilapidating form of the disease. He is currently undergoing chemotherapy treatments for this and still has a long road ahead of him. But as the saying goes,” you can’t keep a good man down”. Joseph has poured his heart and soul into his music for years. Even though he is being exhausted by everything going on within him, he continues to portray his love for life through the one thing he values most… his music.

Joe is actively involved in the Houston Texas Blues scene and is currently registered in a blues band competition known as “Houston’s Blues Society Regional I B C Heat #1.” So if anyone finds themselves in the Houston area next Sunday, this band will be well worth the drive!

  2. First off I want to say terrific blog! I had a quick question that I’d like to ask if you don’t mind. I was interested in how you center yourself and clear your head before writing. I’ve had a difficult time clearing my mind in getting my ideas out. I do take pleasure in writing however it just seems like the first 10 to 15 minutes are generally wasted simply just trying to figure out how to begin. Any ideas or hints?
    Appreciate it!

    1. I actually just sit and write whatever comes to mind. You can always go back and change the words or whatever. I have ALOT of stuff that was written in just a few minutes, then I return and either it sparks a fire or it doesnt. Thank you for the compliments and the questions! Rock on!!
