Nathan Olivarez-From Corpus to Austin

Some musicians search endlessly for the right band with the right ‘sound’ and the right ‘look’, in which they have the ability to easily blend into. Then, there are those who descend on the local music scene like a whirlwind, commanding the attention of all of those around them and are willing to do whatever it takes to make the music their own.

Thirty-five years ago, a 15-year-old boy named Nathan, armed only with a twelve string guitar, $100 and a duffel bag, left Corpus Christi bound for Austin with just this purpose. Upon arrival, he made his way down to the popular college area street known by the locals as “The Drag”. He played his guitar in order to earn loose change in order to survive. His break came when he was given a list of booking agents and their numbers and the rest,as they say, is history!

Nathan Olivarez has never looked back. Not only has he made quite a name for himself, but he also possesses a great deal of experience in the music business. His extreme dedication to the local music scene has gone above and beyond the call of duty. Nathan performs faithfully twice a week with his band STUPID DRAMA, writes for ROCKSTAR Magazine and also co-hosts Billboard Magazines number one local video show, DAVETV, alongside Austin’s own Dave Prewitt. The bands cd was just recently featued on “KLBJ’s Local Licks” by Austin radio host, Loris Lowe.

Keep up the good work Mr. Olivarez!! And above all, keep on rockin! For more information on Nathan Olivarez and STUPID DRAMA, click on the links below:

P.S My apologies for being off-topicbut I had to ask!
